Books I Totally Failed To Read in 2017, BUT WILL READ BY THE END OF 2018 FOR SURE

TTT is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

If you're like me, you massively enjoy organizing your to-read pile. You know, create categories, like - first in a series, to read asap or review copies. You also probably enjoy making these cute little lists before a break, a reading challenge or new seasons, where you excitedly talk about the books you 'cannot wait to read' and that you are 'incredibly excited for', and promise that you will 'definitely pick them up' in the upcoming days/weeks/months. However, if you are really, truly like me, then you fail every single time. Miserably so.

Today's post is to recap ten of the books I most wanted to read in 2017... but did not manage to. *ashamed face* My goal is to at least read these by the end of 2018, if not sooner, although, knowing myself, even by 2020 would be a stretch. I WILL TRY, THOUGH, I SWEAR. I am full of determination, as I was every single time while making these types of lists, and I *will* do it. (Wish me luck??)

(and I did)

I actually read four out of the ten books mentioned on this list, so woah, I am impressed by myself, I guess. It is, however, truly tragic that I read The Darkest Minds 2+ years ago, ADORED IT, and still haven't managed to continue the series, even though I own the whole thing. *hides*

Three of the Classics I Was "100%" Going To Read in the Fall

I loved going through this list, because it's my biggest fail ever, as I haven't managed to read any of the books I wanted to. I mean, this can actually be positive?? Because, see, I cannot fail any list I set for myself worse than this one.

2017 Releases I Was Utterly Excited For... But Never Got To

Ooh, all these ranked pretty high on my most awaited list, especially Bad Romance, because I love Heather Demetrios, alas, they were all forgotten somehow. Well, actually, I started House of Furies on Halloween, because it seemed appropriate, but it didn't grab my attention IMMEDIATELY, and so I ended up putting it aside.

Question time!

Have you read any of these? What are some of the books you REALLY wanted to read in 2017, but didn't get around to?

  1. Rebecca was one that I read (and LOVED) this year! I have a spoiler-free review of it here if you need some extra motivation to start reading it: https://clockworkbibliotheca.blogspot.com/2017/10/rebecca-daphne-du-maurier.html

  4. I was studying Frankenstein in October, so I had no choice but to read it a couple of times last year! Still have yet to get to Lolita or Rebecca, though, despite the fact that I've owned both for as long as I can remember.

  6. Bad Romance almost made it to my list, too. I adored I'll Meet You There by Demetrios and was determined to read Bad Romance last year but it just never happened. Hopefully this year!

  8. I read Frankenstein in high school and really enjoyed it. My older daughter read Rebecca earlier this year and loved it despite herself (she hates to read).

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
