Claire Barker - Knitbone Pepper Ghost Dog and a Horse Called Moon (Knitbone Pepper #3)

"You always think books are very helpful."

One starry night, Knitbone and his friends find a ghost horse hiding in the garden. Her name is Moon, and she is searching for her long-lost owner.

But Moon has a spooky secret, which is sure to spell trouble.

Received with thanks in exchange for an honest review from Usborne Publishing UK.

When Knitbone digs up an old telescope and succeeds in making his owner, Winnie, get obsessed with astronomy, little do they know they'd be plunging headfirst into a brand new adventure. In this third (and final) book of the Knitbone Pepper Ghost Dog series, we see Winnie, Knitbone Pepper and their gang of ghostly friends faced with a new dilemma- how do they reunite Moon, the ghost horse they stumble upon, with her owner?

Things get all the more exciting when they discover that the owner is none else than a world-famous astronomer, Dr Rosabel Starr! Winnie and her friends cook up an exciting plan to reunite Moon with her beloved owner, but little do they know that trouble is just around the corner...

"They would have made a peculiar sight; a dog sniffing and snortling a wiggly path around Starcross, closely followed by a torch-lit parade of ghostly animals and a girl in a dressing gown."

This time around we are all to familiar with our gang of ghosts- there's Gabriel the librarian goose, Valentine the hare, Martin the biscuit-loving hamster, and Orlando the wacky monkey, and not to mention Knitbone Pepper, ever so eager to please his darling, cleverest-girl-in-the-world, Winnie. We get Winnie's totally bonkers parents too, and the cast is, in all, as adorable as ever.

"Remember, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!"

Plot-wise, this is packed with all the fun from the first two books and more- this is perhaps my most favourite book of the series, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sad to see "The End" on completing the book. Well-written, with a touch of humour here and there, A Horse Called Moon is a book you should definitely pick up if you enjoyed the first two books in the series! It's truly pawtastic.
