Let's not lie, 2016 was a pretty shitty year for various reasons, but I'm not here to talk about any of those, nuh-huh. Christmas and the new year are rapidly approaching and we need some positivity in our lives, which, in my book, means that I'll try to cheer you all up with some crazy fangirling. Makes so much sense, I know. *nods*
In my next 4 posts - including this one lovely here - I'm going to share with you stuff that made me smile, beam, laugh etc. etc. etc. in 2016, and, of course, I'm hoping they'll have the same effect on you. Oh, and WE SHALL BOND OVER ARE COMMON FAVES AND OBSESSIONS, 'KAY?
Here's what else is to come:
- December 15: Killer Songs & Albums of 2016
- December 24: Book Characters Who Slayed My Life in 2016
- December 29: Crazy Good Books Read in 2016
ARE YOU ALREADY IN THE CHRISTMAS MOOD? DO YOU HAVE A CHRISTMAS SWEATER AND/OR SOCKS? WHAT WERE YOU FAVORITE COVERS OF 2016?
Clearly, I've just asked all the important questions.

ReplyDelete"Book Characters Who Slayed My Life in 2016".
Why, I can see you're all about slaying *looks at the amount of covers with slicing weapons on them* ;D. And here I thought this was a Christmas post LOL.
Oh gosh, talking about Christmas - sorry to be a party-pooper, but the only mood I'm in lately is foul. Then again, if you have a Christmas sweater and/or socks, I'd like to see them! :)
Haha, yeah, now I can see how many slice-capable weapons are on these covers. :D
DeleteI HAVE A CHRISTMAS SWEATER. Just got it for my birthday & it has a penguin on it. Too cute. :)
The Grinch approves of penguins ;D.
DeleteI am SO into the Christmas mood!! There are some beautiful covers here, especially Under Rose-Tainted Skies, I'm just imagining how amazing that would look on my bookshelf! My favourite book cover this year has got to be The Rose and the Dagger by: Renee Adhieh. I love the middle eastern inspirations!
ReplyDeleteYAY! *highfive* Yess, Under Rose Tainted Skies's cover is gorgeous! The Rose and the Dagger is a good one - I just REALLY didn't like the first book, so I have no desire to continue that duology. #blacksheep
DeleteI am totally and completely in the Christmas mood! I have two Christmas jumpers but I haven't worn them yet!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite cover this year is definitely Heartless - I can not stop fangirling over that cover and I haven't even read the book yet!! Looking forward to the rest of your December posts as well!
I haven't worn mine either, but maybe tomorrow?? I kinda want to wear it out, kinda feel self-conscious about it lol.
DeleteTHAT'S SO DAMN GORGEOUS OMG. Really simplistic, but still one of the prettiest ones.
Wow, I didn't know about Everyone We've Been and I'm totally in love with that cover now. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI am not in a huge Christmas mood. Maybe, that's because in my country, we don't have a lot of big traditions or anything like that. Usually, nothing really exciting happens on Christmas for me, so I don't have high expectations, hahah.
But I am excited about all the end-of-the-year-recaps happening around. I'm sure to love everything you guys are planning and I'm very excited to read my favorite bloggers recaps as well. I don't know why, but I really like getting to know more about everyone favorites and least favorites. (Mainly least favorites, because, you know, #drama!)
One of my favorite covers of 2016 was Dreamology, by Lucy Keating. The hardcover looks soooo stunning! I also really love the covers for Illuminae and Gemina.
Sorry for the long comment, by the way!
Everyone We've Been's cover is PERFECTION. The colors, the minimalist design, the font... everything is fabulous.
DeleteOh, I'm sorry about that. Christmas is FUN, though. The food, the presents, the shopping... it's marvelous. :D
LEAST FAVES ARE THE BEST OMG. I so feel you there. I may or may not make some negative lists after the year's ended, because I love to whine about disppointments lol.
Dreamology is freaking gorgeous - AND GEMINA AND ILLUMINAE are so unique!! I didn't know that before purchasing, though, so now I'm stuck with the boring paper backs. :(
OH, NO WORRIES. Long comments are my faves. :)
So many great covers this year!
ReplyDeleteI think Lady Midnight was my favourite. I also loved the simplicity of the Thousandth Floor as well.
Yep, Lady Midnight is so pretty - surprisingly so, because Cassandra Clare's novels don't always have covers that I love. The Thousandth Floor is another gorgeous one. ^^
DeleteThese are all gorgeous *heart eyes* I think Passenger, And I Darken, and Under Rose Tainted Skies are my favorites, but it's so hard to choose. I don't have any Christmas sweaters, but I do have some red and white fuzzy socks I always wear. :)
ReplyDeleteFUZZY SOCKS ARE THE BEST. I have a pink and a purple pair and they're so comfy!
DeleteThe Yesternight cover is BEAUTIFUL! The purple shades with the greyish brown ones are just so mysterious and wonderful. I don't know why I haven't read it yet but I need to get on that ASAP!
ReplyDeleteLaura @BlueEyeBooks
OMG, CAT WINTERS IS MY QUEEN AND YESTERNIGHT WAS EPIC, SO YESSS, READ HER BOOKS. *flails*
DeleteMy FAVORITE cover is probably And I Darken, it's so beautiful <3 and the second books cover is so pretty! But there were a lot of great covers this year! I do have a Christmas sweater, it has bells xD
ReplyDeleteOmg, I've just checked out the second book's cover and it's FREAKING GORGEOUS. BELLS? That is, like, the coolest thing ever. I want that!
DeleteThis Savage Song is so beautiful. I had to buy it online because the Australian cover was nowhere near as lovely.
ReplyDeleteYESS, I didn't love the book, but both US and UK covers are gorgeous. :)
DeleteThis post is lovely! Looking at gorgeous book covers always makes me happy, and to see so many in one place is just so pleasing to the eyes :D
ReplyDeleteI am not even sure if I could pick an absolute favourite! Although I have to say that the cover of This Savage Song is SUPER GORGEOUS. And I did read that one, so I know how perfectly it fits what's inside!
As for one I haven't read I really adore the cover for The May Queen Murders because G A H. Everything about that is beautiful. Everything.
I don't have a Christmas sweater because I would perish in the Australian summer heat, but I do have a Christmas shirt that says 'Season's Grootings' and has a picture of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy on it :D
