Hello lovelies. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is the top ten books I can't believe I haven't read in X genre. I chose the mystery genre because I came to love this genre in the past year or so. Hope you'll enjoy my list. Do tell me if you've read any of these books! :)

I have a copy of The Girl on The Train that I need to read! It's fitting it all in though. Far too many books and too little time. I enjoyed Gone Girl and Dangerous Girls a lot! I hope that you like them too and the rest of the books on your list! My TTT
ReplyDeleteYES. I'm dying to read all these books and more but I still don't have time for them. :( I did read Dangerous Girls and loved it! I'm hoping all of these will be just as awesome as they seem to be, I had a few disappointments thanks to mysteries in the last few weeks.
DeleteI don't read much mystery, though I'd really like to read more, both classic and historical. The most recent mystery I read was Ed McBain's Cop Killer, the first book in his famous 87th Precinct series.
ReplyDeleteI heard some great things about that one, though I'm not sure how I feel about it. I might just give it a chance anyway.
DeleteI need to read more mystery books! I've read both Made For You and Black Ice. I can't say that I enjoyed the latter, but Made For You was alright. Most of the others are on my TBR shelf. I'm especially excited to read Ten and Cooper Bartholomew is Dead.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's too bad. I heard mixed things about it but more positives I think. I'm still holding you to your promise to buddy read Gone Girl with me! I hope they'll turn out to be much better than the ones you didn't enjoy. :)
DeleteWell I hope you enjoy it anyway. Don't worry I haven't forgotten! The library queue is going down slowly. I hope so too :-)
DeleteI do need to read some of these. I liked The Madman's Daughter. great picks :)

Thanks!
DeleteThe Madman's Daughter sounds amazing I;'ll add it to my TBR. :D
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday!
I'm glad you found something for you on my list! :)
DeleteGreat list! I've read The Madman's Daughter (LOVED) and Gone Girl (loved) and recommend them both! Here's my TTT. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can't wait to finally get my hands on these!
DeleteI do read mostly mysteries. I read TEN last year and it was fun. It would be good paired with AND THEN THERE WERE NONE - the book that the author based it on. And I read GONE GIRL with my mystery group last year. Hmmm...well, parts I liked and parts I did not - at all. Finished THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN just a while ago and wrote about it. It's gripping.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Ten was based on that book, now I feel like I have to check it out before reading Ten. I'm so excited for Gone Girl because while most people find it great I'm still afraid of not liking it. I can't freaking wait to finally get my hands on The Girl on the Train! That book was one of my most awaited ones this year so far!
DeleteI have been trying to get my hands on Gone Girl and The Madman's Daughter! I was so tempted when I saw the first at the bookstore but apparently I already had bought "too many books" and needed to "finish the ones I bought first". Oh, well. In my mind, you can never have too many books;) I actually haven't read many mystery books, although Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None and Mystery on the Orient Express are two of my favorites. Thanks for sharing:D

I actually have Gone Girl but haven't yet read it, I'm planning on buying The Madman's Daughter soon, can't wait! I agree! "You have too many books" is a sentence that should not exist. You should, I wasn't a fan of mystery but after Dangerous Girls I was hooked on the genre. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I haven't read any classic mysteries but I might try them in the future.
DeleteI really want to read Gone Girl! After hearing everyone loving both book and movie, it got me so interested. I will have to read the book first before seeing the movie. It makes for less confusion!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really interested in reading it before the movie came out either, after that though, I heard praises for it everywhere. I'm planning to read the book first too and I'm glad because I heard that the movie stayed true to the book.
DeleteI want to read The Girl on the Train so bad! It's gotten rave reviews and every time I see it in the bookstore my first instinct is to get it. But then... no because I still have so many books to read. And GONE GIRL. I watched the movie and really enjoyed it so I want to read the book and see the differences.
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky because in Hungary I can't find it anywhere and last time I checked it was really pricey on The Book Depository :( I can't wait to read it though! Gone Girl seems so awesome, I'm really excited because I heard that the movie is completely true to the book which is rare.
DeleteMystery is always a hit or miss for me. I can usually guess where a book is going...maybe it's watching too many episodes of Law & Order? I can't think of a book that last blew my mind...hmm...which for some reason I think Mystery should always do. But these books all sounds intriguing. The only ones I've read are The Madman's Daughter (more for the re-telling aspects than the mystery aspects. Really good/gothic-horror book) & Black Ice (this one I didn't really like, mostly b/c the heroine was...distractingly small-minded). I want to check out Ten (for the Agatha Christie re-telling) and Gone Girl (I've seen the movie, but have yet to read this book!!!) Great list!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I do figure out the ending too but if it's a really greatly written book I don't really care. To be honest I want to read The Madman's Daughter because of the re-telling aspect too, I hadn't even wanted to read it before I realised that it's a re-telling. Black Ice got really mixed reviews but I'm hoping I'll enjoy it, it sounds good but I hate small-minded heroines. Have you read Dangerous Girls? It blew my mind, but of course there's still a chance that you won't like it.
DeleteI hope you'll enjoy both books.
Thanks!
I have not read Dangerous Girls! I need to read that asap!
DeleteI really want to read Fiendish!! *-*
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I didn't like Black Ice :( Just boring, I though it would have been with more suspense and more action-packed.

I'm soo afraid of Black Ice now, because so far I saw both negative and positive reviews but now everyone's telling me that it's not good. :(
DeleteI've actually not read any of these - not surprising considering I don't read many mysteries anymore and all these look like new books. (I'd only heard of one of them before.) I'm going to go read about Ten though, because with that cover and that tagline, it sounds like And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to try a few of them because there are some pretty great YA Mysteries out there, for example Dangerous Girls. I've just learnt that it's based on And Then There Were None which makes me want to read the original book before Ten. I hope you'll enjoy it. :)
DeleteGone girl is pretty good even though I didn't like the ending to much. I'm so excited to read Girl on The Train, I own it, and I'm waiting for the perfect time to pick it up. I've heard such horrible things about Black Ice. I usually don't let that sway me from picking up a book, but I don't think I will enjoy the story at all so I'll be passing on that one. Ten has been on my TBR for quite some time, and ooooo Complicit looks so fucking creepy, and I loveee creepy. Adding that to my TBR now!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to read Gone Girl, I hope I'll enjoy it despite the ending. I think when I'll finally get my hands on The Girl on the Train, I'll wait with it until I have the chance to read it in one seat because it sounds like a really frustrating read. Funny how at first I heard great things about it but now I don't hear anything but terrible things. I hope Complicit will work out for you, it definitely sounds like a unique read.
