Which one of us book lovers can't appreciate a good library? I think most readers visit libraries regularly, or at least want to use them just don't have the time to do so. Libraries are awesome enough as it is, but have you ever wondered what would it feel like to borrow books from one of these beautiful institutions? 1. Haha, I love how you listen nearly 3 quarter of them but I do get why. It was awfully hard to choose this 15 out of all the gorgeous libraries from around the world, and I nearly died choosing my two favorites. It's impossible to decide if I like the modern ones better or the older ones but the whites do look open and beautiful.

  6. Oh man, that Tokyo library looks amazing. I like the clean architecture & lighting. I went to UCSD (University California of San Diego) so I've totally been in that Geisel library (maybe one too many times?) I would legit request YA books to that library and pick them up at the front desk and the students working there would would give me looks for picking up "Twilight-esque" books. I'd be like, what? Libraries aren't just for encyclopedias! Ugh. libraries. I just want to live in them. Great list!!! I'm bookmarking this :)

    1. No waaay! I love clean architecture too but the very decorated ones look awesome too. The Californian one is one of the bestest from the list! I'm so freaking jealous! Ah, those students had no idea what they're missing by not reading YA. Me too.
      Thanks! :))

  7. Loved that you included the Thomas Fisher library! Representing Toronto!! Woo! I've probably only been in once but it truly is a pretty fantastic library. Very elegant. Although I might be biased but honestly the entire U of T St. George campus is gorgeous. But yeah there are some pretty cool libraries especially in Sweden. I think Buzzfeed may have done a list on them a while ago? Or maybe it was Switzerland.. Anyway super cool and it made me want to pack up and live there just for the gorgeous libraries!

  8. Man,these are stunning!I wish I lived in a country where they had libraries and bookstores as beautiful as these.*sigh*
My favourite is probably the Stuttgart one from Germany. It looks like a library out of a sci fi universe!
But it looks too elegant and sophisticated to my taste,so my ideal one would be Jay Walker's from USA.It looks so comfortable!
    Great post btw,Ronnie!

    1. IKR? It's such a disappointment, when you realise these gorgeous building could be in your country. Stuttgart looks like something out of a dystopian world, I mean all the clean whiteness but I love it. I so wish one day I'll have a home library like the Jay Walker one, it's so comfy.
      Thank you! :)

  10. Gorgeous photos! These are absolutely amazing --- I love seeing places where people felt it worthwhile to make the investment in some wonderful feats of art & architecture in support of libraries & books. It's a strong reminder about how crucial a role in culture & history books play. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I wish more libraries or bookshops looked like this because they'd attract people to these bookish places. You're right, books influence a lot of things and we wouldn't know about many things without them, this is something we should forget, not even in the age of the internet. Glad you enjoyed. :)

  11. Eeeeee! I must go to these someday...
My favourites are Abbey Library of St. Gallen and The Royal Portuguese Reading Room.
The Stockholm Public Library looks creepy as, but still awesome.
I've been to my city library before for a convention thingy, and the building was gorgeous but I didn't get to go into any rooms with books - which sounds really stupid, now that I think about it!
What a great post idea :)

It does look creepy, at first I didn't even want to believe it was real. haha.
No way. I guess you'll have many chances to check out rooms with actual books in the future.
      Thank you! :)

  13. Lovely post! All those libraries are simply gorgeous. I think my personal favorites would be the Abbey Library of St. Gallen and the Stuttgart City Library. They're both completely different - one looking old fashioned and the other futuristic - but they're both so awesome. Can you imagine not only getting to go to one of those amazing libraries, but actually getting to work there? That would be like a book lovers dream come true!
